SIRE Group Selected to Deliver Huerfano County’s First 3D-Printed Mixed-Income Community
Exclusive development partnership will transform the Rio Cucharas District through a $26.2 million redevelopment featuring affordable housing and advanced 3D concrete printing technology.
WALSENBURG, Colorado – July 29, 2026 — SIRE Group LLC has been selected as the exclusive development partner for the Rio Cucharas District Redevelopment Project after the Huerfano County Board of County Commissioners approved RFP 2026-01 and executed an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with the company.
The partnership marks an important milestone for both SIRE Group and Huerfano County, establishing the framework for the redevelopment of the former Rio Cucharas Inn property into a mixed-income residential community designed to address local housing needs while supporting long-term economic growth.
The proposed redevelopment represents an anticipated private investment of approximately $26.2 million and will introduce a diverse residential neighborhood that includes affordable workforce housing, market-rate homes, cottage court residences and community-oriented amenities.
As part of the project, SIRE Group intends to deploy advanced 3D concrete printing (3DCP) technology, making the development the first major residential community in Huerfano County planned to utilize this innovative construction approach. The technology is expected to improve construction efficiency, reduce material waste, enhance structural durability and support the delivery of high-quality housing in a more sustainable and cost-effective manner.
